Tarot & My Practice
When I was 15, I found my aunt's deck of Rider-Waite-Smith cards and began my journey into reading tarot (with help from my witchy aunt). While I loved to read for family and friends, there was always something missing when I used the RWS cards – it just didn't resonate with me as much.
From 2019 - 2022, I created my two divination decks; L’Œil de L’Âme Tarot, and The Gwai Lenormand.
L’Œil de L’Âme Tarot is a contemporary reimagining of the tarot that emphasises the fluidity of watercolour and the depth of the subconscious. Developed over two years, the deck features 86 cards that weave together art history, theatre, dreamscapes, and the artist's own experiences. It is currently in the collection of Tate Library, Asia Art Archive, and the College of Psychic Studies.
The Gwai Lenormand is a vibrant, ghostly divination deck created by Charlotte Mui as a sister project to L’Œil de L’Âme Tarot, featuring 36 digitally-illustrated cards. It is currently in the collection of the College of Psychic Studies.
After the passing of my mother, I retired from tarot reading, but I am working on a course to teach others how to read with my decks.
