An ongoing body of work, 2026 –

This project is a lifelong love letter to my mother, my grandparents, and everything I once could not imagine living without. Unfolding slowly, across many years and many forms — painting, archive, ritual object, sound, the kitchen table — it is a tribute to grief rituals, micro-histories, and the people who raised us.

At its foundation is the Tang Family Archive: over 7,000 photographs, documents, and letters recording our family's life from the 1940s to the present, across Hong Kong, Macau, and now London. The archive is both research and artwork, and the record from which everything else grows.

In a world where everything moves too fast, this project is a slow reading of a life. It moves through motherhood and matriarchy, cultural inheritance and diaspora, art as spiritual practice, as a way of calling on ancestors, of thinning the veil, and the love that no longer has anywhere to go.

New works are added as they are ready. It begins with Have A Rice Day, a recipe zine built in the living room with my mother and my aunt, launching Autumn 2026.

This project is for those who came before us, and for those who will come after us.
